hey. I want blonde hair. currently have boxed dyed red hair.naturally my hair is brown. what is hair foiling? interms with coloring? what would be the best route 2 color it pro like regular, or foiling or what?

ok.....first of all, when you put an at home color on your hair, it contains metallic dyes. These dyes are very hard to cover up even by professional colorists. My suggestion is to see your stylist for ideas. She may advise you to let the red grow out if it is permanant color. If it is semi-permanant, I would wait a few weeks until it came out. The foil method is best, as it blends the highlights better and works great for thick hair. My hair is natural brown, and I was never able to achieve blonde without professional help. Unless you wanna turn out having reddish orange hair, I would let the stylist handle it, because it is hard to lift (or lighten) your hair color if its darker than the shade you want. Good luck!!

You should go see a beautician about the process needed to get to blonde. I am also naturally light brown but dye my hair red. Last year, I wanted to go back to natural and I had to buy a color stripping kit, strip out the color of my hair, and then the beautician dyed it back to natural for me. It only cost me about $50 going that route, but if you have them strip it and dye it for you, it will be over $100. So...give your beautician a call and see what needs done. Good luck!

you neeeed to go to a salon, especially if your hair is dyed red right now. theres not going to be a developer with enough lift that youll want to use to cover the red with blonde. its not likely. in the salon they can do foils, where they pain the color on and fold it up into sheets of foil to let the color develop. trust me, you cant do foils on your own. go to a salon!

Personally, I think you should just go to a place like Bubbles, or some other professional hair salon and have them take care of it. My hair always comes out really good, if I go to a salon.. and think about it.. when people look at you, that's one of the first things they see is your hair. Don't you want it to look it's best?

I wouldnt sugest that. Coloring doesnt damage your hair, but bleaching it really does. If you naturally have brown hair, i would just sugest high-lights, but go to a pro. for that. If you try to highlight yourself, it ends up looking like spots! lol. but foiling is only for high-lights, and if you do go blonde, be sure to get your eyebrows dyed, lol. It looks wierd when someone w/ blonde hair has dark brown eyebrows. lol

hair foiling is when they do certain pieces of hair. like when i got my hair highlighted 2 colors they foiled it so the colors wouldn't mix.

ask the profesional what you should do.

and remember going lighter is worse for your hair than making it darker.

since you have to use bleach to lighten it its best to go to a pro. foiling is taking strips of foil placing your hair on top and painting the bleach on, they are used mainly for highlights.
