Question about hair color and pregnancy?

I heard that natural instincts is ok for pregnant women because it's not permanent therfore it does not have those harsh chemicals. Anyway I decided to use it last night and it has damaged my hair. I regret doing it now cause my hair looks so dried and fried. What can I do to help my hair look a little better until this stuff washes out. Plus now I am worried because if it made my hair look that bad does that mean there is stuff in it that could harm the baby?? I don't mean to sound dumb but I have heard that coloring is a bad idea when you are pregnant.

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

My midwife told me both times not to use hair color while I was pregnant and my hair dresser refused to even straighten my hair while pregnant. If you are truly concerned you should speak w/your OB/Midwife about it and see what he/she has to say.

Here are few suggestion about what to do with your hair. Try Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner you can get it for about $5.00, its cheap and affordable and works good but you have to use it every day to keep the results. Or try Nexxus Humectress you can get it for about $15.00 and you can use it for a deep conditioning or a leave in treatment. Either can be purchased at Walmart, Target, etc. I use the Neutrogena as a daily conditioner and the Nexxus as a weekly treatment.

Good Luck w/your hair and your btb!!

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

yes all hair cooring is bad you are not supposed to do so.its because of the smell. they tell you to do it in a ventalated area even when your not pregnant the fumes could harm your child... i had pink hair when i found out i was preggers you know how mad i was to keep it for 9 months

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

I am a licensed cosmetologist. Coloring your hair has absolutely No effect on the baby! for you hair though, use a deep conditioner.

PS my daughter's name is Jaelyn.

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

congrats i heard you can do that in second trimester

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

JUST DON'T PUT BLEACH RIGHT ON YOUR SCALP- IF YOU USUALLY LIGHTEN YOUR HAIR. SOMETIMES THE CHEMICALS MAKE YOU SICK (THE SMELL) BUT HAVE A TALK WITH YOUR OBGYN AND THEN DECIDE FOR YOURSELF. MY HAIRDRESSER HAS HAD 2 KIDS AND JUST HAS THE RULE ABOUT NO BLEACH DIRECTLY NEAR THE SCALP.... AND HER KIDS (ONE IS 7 AND ONE IS 9 MONTHS) ARE HEALTHY AS CAN BE!

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

Condition your hair everyday after you wash it. I heard the Ganier Fructise stuff is good. Im not sure your hair texture, but pantene conditioners seem to be a best bet also. I used relaxed and natural conditioner and products. works well.

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

My friend did her hair the whole time she was pregnant but had to do it at home b/c the hair dresser wouldn't b.c of the smell. her Dr. had told her it was ok though. I personally wouldn't though too many things act weird when your pregnant. My hair completely changed color after I had my first baby.

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

There is nothing wrong with dying your hair.Your hair did get damaged because of the chemicals but it will not harm the baby. Now to hydrate your hair you can buy the Biosilk which works wonders on anyones hair.I reccommend it for sure.I had dry hair but now it looks great because of it!!I'm also 10 weeks pregnant and dyed my hair and nothing happened to the baby.

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

Honestly I wouldnt ever use any chemicals, drugs or alcohol....Especially being pregnant....Having a healthy baby is way more important.

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

Just make sure you're not in your first trimester and always do it in a very, very well ventilated area.

Question about hair color and pregnancy?

I had my hair highlighted twice in a salon while I was pregnant. I know you have heard a lot about the dangers, but I think that's an overreaction, I suggest you buy a VO5 hot oil treatment to help condition your burnt hair, but don't worry about it's effects on your fetus.
