Is henna better than hair color?
I wouldn't recommend it for covering grey. Henna may look nice and make your hair feel good, but once you've put henna on your hair...you cannot color over it. Most commercial hair colors have warning not to use their products if you have henna on your hair. You have to wait until it grows out.
If you color your own hair, one of the best for grey coverage is Excellence by L'Oreal. It doesn't fade...you just have to touch up the roots.

Henna is tricky. Indian ladies use it, but most of them have dark brown or black hair naturally so it adds nice red tones. Lighter hair it can look really orange, and it's nearly impossible to get out. Basically if you use it you can't dye over it and have to wait for it to grow out. I would not risk it.
Try a permanent color if you want to cover gray. It sounds to me that you are using a semi-permanent color. Grays are very hard to dye as it is, even with permanents.

Henna is healther for your hair. it cleans the scalp. but at the same time , it drys the hair. so if you'll go for Henna, make sure that you use hair conditioner and hair products all the time.
if you want to color just the grey hair, try to color the grey parts only, buy seperating the hair, just how they do in coloring the hair in different shades.

If your hair color keeps fading after 2 weeks, are you using a permanent color? If you're using a permanent color that isn't "taking," i.e. keeps fading or you see little difference immediately after coloring, then your hair is probably too damaged to hold the color. Chemical straightening (chemical anything, really) is very hard on your hair - the ammonia or peroxide in the developer can "burn" tiny holes in your hair if you color frequently. Eventually the hair strand is so porous that there simply isn't enough surface area left to hold ANY color, no matter if it is hair dye or henna.
If your hair is super damaged, there really isn't much you can do besides deep condition (with heat for at least 30 minutes) every single day until your hair is repaired enough to hold GENTLE color - that means no ammonia or peroxide. This will take several weeks. Another option is to cut your hair, but I'm guessing you're not about to consider that.
If you really feel you need to color, please go to a professional and have him or her take a look at your hair. Even if you don't have them do the coloring, they will be able to tell you how much you can color, what to use and how often.
Hope this helps - good luck!
Is henna better than hair color?
Not really. Henna leaves a greenish shade in your hair and that does not look good. I would go with good hair color brands that do not contain any ammonia like Chi. You will not believe how much better your hair would look after applying this hair color.

I wouldn't suggest henna to cover grey hair. Yes, a lot of Indian ladies use it, and it gives nices red tones, but their grey turns bright orange.
Grey hair is the hardest to color because sometimes it just doesn't want to hold the pigment. I would suggest going to a salon and having a consultation. Most salons carry colors that are meant specifically for grey hair. I know that to some people it's a lot of money to get your hair professionally done, but your color is pretty much gauranteed. I mean, if it fades ou after two days, they will re-do it for you.
Good luck.

Hi,
Henna is very good for hair as a conditioner. But if you are looking at a permanent solution for your hair color, then I would not advice henna. Henna goes off after a month and the grays start to show after 15 days only. Hair coloring is a better and a long term option. Otherwise there is an exercise which is mentioned on the site:
http://www.cure-for.info
which is very good to reduce hair fall, to grow hair and to reduce the grays. You can check it out it's a very simple exercise and very easy to do. I have been doing it since 2 months and see a drastic reduction in my hair fall.

Yes it is, It helps condition and strengthen the hair
Is henna better than hair color?
This is a very tricky question! Henna is healthier and better for your hair. It thickens, strengthens and seems to even soften your hair IF you use the real thing.
Many health-food stores are not henna experts and the 'pure' henna can contain green dye (a practice called 'polishing' to make it seem fresh and green) and be old and stale. Be very aware of package and anything that says it is black or blonde or any other color than red and STILL CLAIMS to be pure henna, beware! There may be other chemicals in it as well as possible toxins.
Adding other natural ingredients like indigo, coffee, etc. can help alter the red color. If you have chemically treated hair, henna may not be for you. Henna and chemicals don't get along well and you could end up with an odd unwanted surprise!! I henna every couple of months and it's very natural looking and doesn't fade almost at all.
The very best place for information on all things hair and henna including recipes is http://www.hennaforhair.com . There is access to reputable suppliers, warnings, 'how to's' and free down loadable books and information. Many of the books are also available on CD. Good luck and I hope this helped!

The actual henna is produced by grinding the green leaf
of the henna plant. It is used as a natural conditioner.
If u have grey hair it turns brownish tint. IT CANNOT BE USED TO COLOR YOUR HAIR.
It is very helpful to hair growth and it enhances the hair health.
I recomend it to use once in a week.
It is worth applying henna even if it is heavy to apply.
But you can find coloring henna in the market.
It is produced by mixing other aditives to henna
and it is not 100% natural.
