Help! hair color question..?

Okay ..so i am stationed overseas on a remote island and have limited salons and hair products at the military stores. my hair is dyed light blonde and my natural color is a darker dirty blonde. i went to have the roots fixed and the hairdresser ruined my roots and they look brassy and 2 shades darker!! i have been trying to fix this and have ended up literally crying trying to fix the orange...i have looked at the stores and they don't even have any toner shampoos. they have a limited amount of hair coloring kits as well.my roots now are light blonde and below them i have about 2 inches of orange and blonde again. its so bad, i just try and wear headbands and hats and it looks terrible with my hair pulled back as well..so if you have any tips or product ideas...please help..thanks!!

This problem is for a hairdresser..Its called getting rid of a "Gold Band". Its easy for the hairdresser to fix, if she knows how...Lifting the gold band out to match the rest of your hair..She needs to touch the roots with, with a formula of a blonde with ash in it, and addition of extrablonding creme added....Find a shop who uses Matrix, and have them add extra blonding to the formula..Takes about 5 to 15 min....Dont try this yourself with over the counter brands..It wont work...My second suggestion, is coloring your hair back to natural, which you probably dont want to do.. You just have a case of the Gold band, which can be fixed easily, through a hairdresser who knows how to fix it..

Right dont panic i know how you feel!

You can either go to a different hairdresser and get them to strip off all the dye on your hair.

Or ...You can buy a brown (fairly dark) dye it leave it for a couple of days then if you wish to go light buy an ash brown/blonde and your problem should be fixed.

hope that helps...

Let me know if its right or not :)

If I were you,,,I would go to another salon,,if you have another choice to go to. You or they need to be very very careful when dealing with the band of color you describe. If they are good,,,they can blend the band out with a weak bleach solution,,,be extremely cautious to NOT over lap the lines between good color and the bad. The demarcation line, is fragile,, you may be better off, in the long run,,to go back to a darker color. Until it grows out some,,,you would hate to have your hair break off at that line. If you want to try to fix it yourself,,email me,,and I will guide you thru it. It will take a couple more bottles of color,,but it can be done,,,with help. my eamil is ~~mrsduffield2@yahoo.com I have owned and operated my own shop for over 20 yrs now.

The other 2 answers on here have really good ideas..

But another option too is to get your hair "stripped" to get all of the color out and start over. That happened to me when my colors got crazy....worked out wonderfully because you can dye/highlight right after that like nothing bad ever happened!
