My hair is brown, and got lighter because I put lots of gel in it during summer when I went into the sun. My hair got a little lighter. I want to make my hair really dark brown, but I hear that all hair coloring washes out eventually. How do I make my hair permantly change color to dark brown?

Hey I'm a hair stylist so let me ask you some questions? Are you male or female? Do you have any color whatsoever in there- I mean even from a year or so ago? In haircoloring we use a scale for color. so tell me how light is your hair now 5 being the darkest and 10 the lightest. What would you rate it at? Also using the scale again for your desired color dark brown 1 being darkest and 5 being lightest what would you rate it. sorry this might be confusing but this is how the haircolor is done.
