I want to dye my hair but am unsure of what color to pick?

I have dark red hair and I've kinda been curious about coloring/highlighting it lately, but I'm unsure of what color to chose. My hair color is unusual so I have trouble comparing it to others. I've been discouraged about doing anything too eccentric, such as blue or green streaks, because I will have to go through the process of bleaching my hair first and then having to dye my roots repeatedly. So, if anyone has any experience with this, is it worth it? Or, if I should just go with normal highlights (like blond, light brown, etc.) what color should I use?

I haven't yet coloured mine, but my hairdresser is always telling me about colouring my hair, just ask your hairdresser, she/he might give you some ideas.

If you want to look like a natural beauty, pick light brown,

if you want to look "outstanding" pick blond,

if you want to look just pretty then bright red highlights.

It's totally worth it. And you don't necessarily have to bleach it. Just leave it in way longer and heat process it. I think you should go cherry red, but you would have to bleach it. Maybe purple, which looks good on everyone.

you should probably choose blond because that color will stand out more and it would look better with ur dark red hair

SInce you say it's dark red...I wouldn't do too much and die it blonde....I would definately tell you to die it a little darker...maybe brown?

Most hair colour brands that you can buy at a pharmacy/chemist have websites that you can go to. These sites have tools to help you decide what colour to choose based on your current colour, and how dramatic of a change you want.

You didn't specify what your natural colour is, so I can not give you advice in that department.

I have dyed my hair nuclear red before, and it was well worth it, but I only had it that way for the holidays (Valentine's Day). My hair is naturally very dark, so the contrast between the nuclear red and dark brown looked really nice. I eventually dyed the whole thing bad to dark brown though, since, like you said, it was too much work to maintain.

i would wait till after summer cause the sun-light can effect your hair, last summer i had colored my hair light brown and i went out in the sun a lot and in the pool which had chlorine and my hair turned orange. if your gonna color it then black hair is in style
